Five reasons you should attend UWA's Open Day

Before you join us at The University of Western Australia (UWA), you’ll want to be sure you’ve made the right decision.

Of course we think it’s obvious why you’d want to study here – we’re a world top 100 university with a Nobel Prize winner on staff and perhaps the most attractive campus in Australia. And if you come along to our International Open Days in Indonesia, Singapore and India, you’ll find out lots more for yourself.

First of all, you’ll probably want to hear from people who’ve actually already gone to UWA. When you step into one of UWA’s International Open Days this August to October, you’ll be able to attend a panel discussion of UWA graduates who are succeeding in their chosen careers. Listen to what they have to say, and ask them a question about what it’s really like studying at UWA.

Pop along to the various talks with our Future Students and Admissions teams. They’ll be able to tell you what you need to do to become a part of the UWA family, whether you’re a school leaver or pursuing your postgraduate studies.

Maybe your English language skills need some polishing. That’s fine. We have a partnership with the specialists at Taylors College that means you can come to Perth before uni begins and brush up on your English. Taylors also offers a range of special pathways to UWA for international students, so come along and hear all about your options.

Of course, you’ll be able to talk to the people who might actually be teaching you once you join UWA. We’ll have academics from our Faculty of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Faculty of Science, Business School and School of Design ready to talk to you about the many courses we offer.

Finally, find out a bit more about Perth and Western Australia. There’s so much more to life than just study, so find out what to do on weekends, during holiday periods or even when you have just a few spare hours. You can catch a ferry to Rottnest Island (‘Rotto’) for the day, gather friends for a Swan Valley wine tour, or take your bike out for a refreshing ride around the river to clear your head. Hear presentations about life in Perth with speakers from the Western Australian Government.

So this August to October, step into UWA Open Day and find out where in the world a UWA degree can take you. We can’t wait to see you!
