Volunteer workers' insurance

This policy applies to all voluntary workers undertaking official activities for The University of Western Australia.

The policy provides limited protection to members of the public providing voluntary services to the University and affiliated or associated entities.

Benefits

Various including:

  • Death by accident, permanent disablement, loss of limbs and sight,
  • Temporary total disablement,
  • Temporary partial disablement, etc.

Conditions

Medical expenses that may be claimed either in part or in full through Medicare or private health insurers cannot be claimed on this policy.

Making a claim

Complete a claim form and forward it to Aon at [email protected].

The claim form is required to be completed in full and returned together with all supporting documentation, a UWA Incident Report form, and medical certificates or accounts.

Excesses/deductibles

The policy is subject to a $20 excess (for each and every claim) for non-Medicare medical expenses.

Weekly Injury Benefit, Domestic Help and Home Tutorial claims are subject to a seven-day elimination period.
