Further Study
Students who complete a Honours in Fine Arts can apply to study either a Master of Fine Arts, Master of Curatorial Studies or other postgraduate study opportunities. The resources of the UWA Museum's Student Placement Program and the important collections of the University provide a valuable set of resources for students to advance their research into postgraduate study.

Domestic Student Fees
For Commonwealth-supported places, student contribution amounts are charged by unit, based on area of study. For a fee estimate, go to the Fee Calculator and select “I want to price my units”. Fees are subject to annual indexation. Refer to the Handbook to identify the units required. More information on how fees are calculated.
Scholarships
Scholarships are available to students from a diverse range of backgrounds, including academic achievement, financial need, educational disadvantage, leadership and community service, artistic or sporting achievements, and being from a rural or remote area.

Admission requirements
English competency
English is the language of instruction and assessment at UWA and you will need to meet the English language requirements of the University to be eligible for a place.
Minimum overall IELTS score of 6.5, with no band less than 6.0.
How to apply

Domestic Pathways
- Domestic Assured Pathway/School Leaver Entry: Applications are lodged via TISC. Refer to TISC Online for current course codes and application deadlines.
- Domestic Graduate Entry: Applications are lodged via GEMSAS, which open and close in accordance with the GEMSAS timeline. All domestic applicants must submit a valid GAMSAT score by the application closing date.
International Pathways
- International Assured Pathway/School Leaver Entry: Applications are lodged via UWA's online application system or via an authorised international education agent.
- International Graduate Entry: Applications are lodged via UWA's online application system or via an authorised international education agent.

Samuel Beilby
The Fine Arts major seemed an appropriate choice after I developed a passion and interest for art during high school. I was interested in the Fine Art units UWA had to offer. But most importantly, UWA was the only university in Western Australia that offered a History of Art course, which I chose as my second major. With both the Fine Art and History of Art department being on the same campus, the popular course combination allows Fine Arts students to expand their knowledge of significant movements and crucial moments in eras of Modernism, Post-Modernism, Renaissance and more.
The Fine Arts major has allowed me to explore a wide array of artistic practises, experimentation with mediums and materials and develop a framework for analysing and forming conceptual groundings for contemporary art.
The greatest asset to the Fine Art department is undoubtedly the lecturers. UWA truly has a great team of contemporary artists, writers and historians who are passionate and driven to support student’s artistic creations as they tirelessly mentor this next generation of artists. They are always eager to pass on their knowledge and experience within the arts industry and often go above and beyond for their student’s projects. The major offers students an insight into the thought-process of contemporary artists from which I have developed skills and perspectives regarding artistic creation that I simply wouldn’t have been able to acquire elsewhere.
