Hosted by the UWA Global Engagement Office, Internationalisation Week in September 2024 is a vibrant celebration of our global community and the cultural diversity of our campus. This week-long event features activities for both staff and students that highlight UWA’s commitment to international partnerships, enhanced student experiences, and cultural exchange. Day 1: Wednesday, 18th September
GLO101 Introduction to Global Learning (Staff)

Learn everything about overseas opportunities for current UWA students (Semester Exchange, Short-Term Programs, International WIL and more.)
Matsuri 2024 (Staff and Students)
Time: 4:30 PM – 9:00 PM
Venue: UWA Oak Lawn
Join the UWA Japanese Student Society for Matsuri 2024, our vibrant rendition of a Japanese summer festival. Dive into the rich cultural heritage of Japan through traditional music, engaging activities, delicious food, and much more. This event provides a fantastic opportunity for students and staff to explore and appreciate the beauty of Japanese traditions. Experience a slice of Japanese summer right here in Perth, celebrating with our enthusiastic student community!

Paint Your Wellbeing (Students)
Time: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Venue: UWA International Student Lounge
Discover your creative side at "Paint Your Wellbeing," a special event hosted by the UWA International Student Support team. More than just a sip and paint session, this event invites you to explore cultural expressions through art. Students are encouraged to paint what well-being means to them, using elements like family traditions, vibrant cultural symbols, or cherished memories from home. Join us for an afternoon of painting, sipping, and celebrating the rich variety of cultures that enrich our university community.
UWA College Student Panel Discussion (Students)
Time: 2:00 PM - 2:45 PM
Venue: Online Event
Join some of our UWA College alumni as they discuss their experience of UWA College and transition to the University. You'll hear about the quirks and surprises of the Australian education setting, and how to settle into Aussie life including managing feelings of culture shock. You'll also get to ask your own questions and hear more about what to look out for as you transition from your pathway course to your intended degree at UWA.
Day 3: Friday, 20th September
Culturise 2024: Cultural Harmony (Staff and Students)
Time: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Venue: UWA Ezone
Social Experience the vibrant traditions of Indonesia at Culturise 2024, hosted by the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) students. This celebration invites the UWA community to immerse themselves in Indonesia's rich cultural tapestry through an array of traditional games, food, art exhibition, music, and dance. Join us for a day of discovery and appreciation, as we celebrate the diverse and dynamic culture of Indonesia, right here on campus.
Lunch & Learn Session 1 (China and South Asia Regions) (Staff)

Join our online Lunch & Learn session to receive updates on UWA's global initiatives across direct recruitment, partnerships, pathway programs, exchange opportunities, and more. This session is a great opportunity for UWA staff to deepen their understanding of our international efforts and collaborative achievements.

Global Learning Fair

English Café Session (Students)

Celebrate the finale of Internationalisation Week at UWA with the vibrant Spring Feast, hosted by the UWA Student Guild. As one of the university’s largest and most anticipated events, Spring Feast showcases food trucks, corporate stalls, and student-run clubs, offering a global culinary experience. Each year, over 4,000 people come together to enjoy and share foods from various countries and cultures around the world. Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to taste international flavours and connect with the diverse UWA community!
