Find a venue
The University Library offers a range of venues to the UWA community that can be used as alternatives to traditional teaching spaces, as well as for seminars, workshops, functions and meetings.
Venues may be booked by UWA staff for UWA-related teaching, research, engagement or other business, and some venues may also be booked by UWA Guild-affiliated groups.
Learning spaces
Learning spaces offer presentation/projection facilities and are available to UWA Library users as collaborative study spaces when not otherwise booked for meetings. Learning spaces may be booked online by UWA staff and UWA Guild-affiliated groups (up to eight hours per group per year).
The Circle
The Circle is centrally located on the ground floor of the Reid Library and is a large, flexible space for up to 60 people (in theatre configuration) designed to host teaching, exhibitions, seminars and other events. The glass walls are soundproof but showcase the activities in The Circle to Library users in the surrounding area.

The Hemsley Learning Suite
The Hemsley Learning Suite is located in the Reid Library on the west side of the ground floor and is designed for interactive tutorial style teaching for up to 56 people. Eight groups have access to a digital monitor to work collaboratively.

Reid Seminar Room
The Seminar Room is centrally located on the first floor of the Reid Library and is a flexible space containing contemporary audiovisual facilities for up to 49 people (in theatre configuration) or 42 people (in workshop/collaborative configuration). The Room can host teaching, seminars, and other events. The north and east sides of the room are operable walls to provide privacy for teaching when closed off or flexibility for adjacent activities when opened up.

J Robin Warren Seminar Room
The Seminar Room is located in the J Robin Warren Library on the south side of the ground floor and is a large, flexible space for up to 60 people (in theatre configuration) designed to host teaching, exhibitions, seminars and other events. The glass walls are soundproof but showcase the activities in the Seminar Room to library users in the surrounding area.

Training spaces
Training spaces offer student seats with monitors to provide connectivity for BYOD and enable learning in a lecture-style or workshop-style presentation. The configuration of desks is fixed. All training spaces offer presentation/projection facilities and are available to Library users as collaborative study spaces when not booked.
UWA staff may book a training space by contacting the Library: [email protected]. To ensure the training space meets your requirements staff are encouraged to inspect the space in advance. Training spaces are not equipped with lecture recording equipment or student computers and are not a substitute for official teaching venues on-campus.

Meeting spaces
Meeting spaces include chairs and tables that can be re-configured for lecture-style presentations or to facilitate group work, and presentation/projection facilities are available.

Function spaces
Our unique function spaces can be used for catering and socialising in conjunction with teaching, research and engagement events in the Library spaces, or for other events.
The University Library offers two function spaces: Fini Family Terrace in the Reid Library and the Foyer in Barry J Marshall Library. Learning spaces The Circle and Reid Seminar Room at Reid Library may also be utilised for functions.

All other arrangements are the responsibility of the event organiser.
Some conditions apply to bookings in Library spaces. We recommend viewing spaces in advance of your booking/event by visiting the Library during opening hours.
