Music Theatre

Do you love singing in school shows and want to continue developing your skills in musical theatre performance? From 2025, UWA’s Conservatorium of Music is excited to offer our brand-new Music Theatre major!

Designed for those who are passionate about musical theatre and are eager to refine their performance skills; this major will assist in developing practical music skills and artistry whilst providing a comprehensive understanding of music theatre, its history and how to analyse and contextualise your performances through understanding the theoretical frameworks of music.

Our curriculum is designed to give you four units of 1-1 tuition where you’ll receive expert instruction from industry professionals that cover acting, singing, dancing and stagecraft. You’ll also have the opportunity to perform in shows including those with WA based-arts organisations and community theatre companies as part of your creative practice and Work Integrated Learning.  You can take part in Broadway Choir, where you’ll perform iconic theatre numbers as well as having the opportunity to shine in solo performances.
