Long-necked turtle

Environmental engineering design project

Our Environmental Engineering students work on a year-long design project with a real-world client to complete their degree. Through creative problem solving they produce some amazing stuff!

The design class projects within our Environmental Engineering major get students thinking and innovating from their first year.

This year, students worked with the City of Perth and the UWA Centre for Water and Spatial Science to design an environmental management plan for lakes in the Narrows Bridge interchange area to protect long-necked turtle populations.

Hear from our students about the project and why they're motivated to take on environmental engineering challenges.
