The UWA Winthrop Scholarship is one of our University's Prestigious Scholarships. This scholarship provides preferential access to industry, university or international placements. Year 12 students with exceptional academic, sporting, community, artistic and leadership capabilities are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility
To be eligible to be considered for the scholarship, an applicant must—
1.
(a) be a domestic student;
(b) in the year prior to commencing an undergraduate course at the University—
(i) have applied through the Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC) whilst in Year 12 for a place at the
University, nominating a course at the University as their first preference in the first round of offers;
(ii) have been short-listed for a UWA Fogarty Foundation Scholarship; and
(iii) achieve the required ATAR as outlined in their conditional letter of offer
(c) be a commencing student;
(d) be enrolled, or eligible to enrol—
(i) full-time unless the selection body is satisfied that there are exceptional circumstances which preclude full-
time enrolment; and
(ii) in an undergraduate degree course.
2.
An Australian citizen or permanent resident or holder of a Permanent Humanitarian Visa or a New Zealand citizen.
Benefits
The scholarship continues from cycle 1 through to cycle 2—
(a) Cycle 1: undergraduate degree course – six semesters, plus an additional two semesters for honours if applicable, which are normally consecutive
(b) Cycle 2: postgraduate degree by coursework – the normal full-time duration of the course, up to a maximum of eight semesters which are normally consecutive.
