Horace Brown Scholarship

COURSEWORK

Adjunct Professor Jackie Davidson has donated funds to The University of Western Australia ('the University') to establish a scholarship in honour of her grandfather, Horace Brown. Horace Brown tragically died young, never achieving his dream of attending UWA because of family business commitments. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage and assist a student who is from a regional or remote area of Australia, and who will be the first in their family to attend university, to pursue a bachelor's degree at the University. Preference will be given to regional students for study at either the UWA Perth or Albany campus.

Eligibility

(a) be a domestic student
(b) be from a regional or remote area of Australia, having completed the whole or majority of secondary schooling, including year 12 at a regional or remote school in Western Australia
(c) be a commencing student
(d) be the first in their family to attend University;
(e) be enrolled, or eligible to enrol
(i) full-time and
(ii) in an undergraduate degree course.

Benefits

To encourage and assist a student who is experiencing financial hardship to pursue a bachelor’s degree at the University.
