The late Norma Matheson bequeathed funds to The University of Western Australia ('the University') in memory of her late husband Alex Matheson to establish a scholarship fund to provide travel scholarships to encourage and assist Doctor of Clinical Dentistry students at the UWA Dental School to attend and present at nationally and/or internationally renowned conferences or similar. Alex Matheson initially studied at UWA in the 1950s before completing his dental studies in England where he pursued a successful career as a dental surgeon.

Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for a scholarship, an applicant must—
(a) be enrolled in the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry degree course;
(b) have completed at least six months’ full-time equivalent study; and
(c) be intending, or be registered, to present at a conference or similar meeting relevant to their research project.
