- Aboriginal Orientation Course
- If you don’t meet the entry requirements or just want to better prepare for uni study, the Aboriginal Orientation Course is a free 14-week course which gives you entry to most bachelor’s degrees and the study skills to succeed.
- AccessUWA
- With AccessUWA you can study individual units of your choice at UWA without having to enrol in a bachelor’s degree. Upon successful completion of a minimum number of four units (24 credit points), you can apply for a comprehensive bachelor’s degree based on your AccessUWA results.
- Approved Enabling Program

Students who have completed a graded Australian University Enabling Program at another tertiary institution with an average of 65% or higher (or average of 60% or higher for eligible Broadway students) are eligible to apply for UWA comprehensive degrees. This may have been completed during high school or post-high school.
- Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR)

ATAR tells you your position relative to other students in your year. It’s important to remember that it’s a percentage not a score. It is also the most direct way as a school leaver to get into the bachelor’s degree of your choice. There are two ATAR entry pathways:
ATAR based entry
You can secure your place at UWA with an ATAR of 75 or above, or with an ATAR of 70 (see Broadway UWA, Fairway UWA and First in Family). Use your final Year 12 ATAR to apply for UWA courses.
Predicted ATAR entry
We’ll be providing offers based on your predicted ATAR from your Year 11 results. You’ll need a minimum predicted ATAR of 80 (Broadway ATAR of 78) and meet the entry requirements for your nominated course to receive an offer.
If your predicted ATAR does not meet the early offer entry requirements for your nominated UWA course, you’ll receive a conditional offer – conditional that you satisfy the ATAR requirement for your chosen course through your final Year 12 ATAR or by successfully completing STAT.
You can use the predicted ATAR pathway to apply for admission to any of our undergraduate degrees, as well as our Assured Pathways to Law, Teaching, Architecture and Translation Studies. The Predicted ATAR entry pathway is not applicable for Assured Pathways to Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Podiatry or the Bachelor of Biomedicine (Specialised).
- Broadway UWA
- If you’ve completed your entire Year 12 studies at a Broadway UWA school, you’ll receive an automated ATAR adjustment
- Diploma Entry Pathway
- Applicants with a completed AQF Level 5 qualification (Diploma) or above may be able to use the Diploma entry pathway for admission to undergraduate programs at UWA.
- Early Offers

If you’re currently in Year 12, Early Offers allow you to apply early for 2025 entry through TISC Online before Friday 29 November 2024. Tick your application off your list so it's one less thing you need to think about and spend that time focusing on your final exams. You can apply for an Early Offer for all degrees excluding Assured Pathways to Medicine, Dental Medicine, Podiatric Medicine, or the Bachelor of Biomedicine (Specialised). We'll be able to assess your application in four ways – your predicted ATAR, your actual ATAR (if this is higher than your predicted), Experience-based entry or STAT.
- Educational Access Scheme (EAS)

The Educational Access Scheme (EAS) can help you gain access to uni if you’ve experienced exceptional circumstances during senior secondary schooling.
- Experience-based entry
- UWA’s new Experience-based entry allows you to apply for a select number of comprehensive bachelor’s degrees using a combination of academic and life experiences. This is the ideal pathway if your ATAR doesn’t reflect your true capability if you have completed TAFE or VET or even if you’re not doing ATAR.
- Fairway UWA
- If you’re challenged by location, economic or other factors, complete the Fairway support program in Year 12 to gain entry to our bachelor’s degrees with an ATAR of 70 or above.
- First in Family

If your parents or guardians have not completed a university-level degree, you may be eligible for a place at UWA through the First in Family program.
Higher Education Study
If you have previously studied at a bachelor’s degree level and have successfully completed one full-time (or equivalent) semester, you can apply for entry to UWA.
- Indigenous Provisional Entry Scheme
- If you're an Indigenous student and don't meet the required ATAR or are mature-age and have a strong educational or employment background, you may be eligible for entry through the Indigenous Provisional Entry Scheme.
- International Baccalaureate (IB)

UWA welcomes IB students to apply and your IB score will be converted into an equivalent ATAR.
- Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT)

The STAT is a national test that provides a pathway to tertiary study if you don’t meet the formal entry requirements. You can use your results in the STAT to gain entry to one of our comprehensive bachelor’s degrees.
- Transfer from another university

There are numerous ways to transfer depending on your situation, and you may be eligible to have your credits rolled over. Wherever you are in your study journey, we’re here to help you make your transition to UWA a breeze.
- UWA Smart Start

UWA Smart Start is a university preparation course at our UWA Albany campus for anyone who didn't complete Year 12, didn't get the minimum ATAR for their chosen course or hasn't studied for a while. More information is available here
