Our free weekly seminar series showcases presenters from within UWA and from the wider community.

Sam Illingworth - Science Communication through the Arts

Effective science communication is about more than telling people about how interesting your research is. It is about developing a dialogue through which many different publics can help to contribute towards research governance and the co-creation of knowledge. In this seminar, Dr Sam Illingworth explains how he uses an arts-based approach to engender dialogue, giving voice to those audiences that are normally under-heard and underserved.

Bio: Dr Sam Illingworth is a Senior Lecturer in Science Communication at UWA, where his work centres on using an arts-based approach to facilitating dialogue between scientists and non-scientists. You can find out more about his work and research via his website: www.samillingworth.com
