Her Sound, Her Story celebrates International Women's Day with a powerful blend of music that tells the stories of remarkable women across generations. From the Baroque compositions of Barbara Strozzi to the evocative songwriting of Kate Bush, this concert brings together the voices of women who have shaped—and are shaping—the sound of our world.

 

In alignment with the 2025 International Women's Day theme, “Accelerate Action,” this performance will inspire momentum and change. The concert will feature a newly commissioned work by UWA Graduate Julia Nicholls, performed by students from Methodist Ladies College, St Mary's Anglican Girls School, St Hilda's Anglican School for Girls, and the UWA Conservatorium of Music, and women of the Perth choral community. This rich intergenerational collaboration will create an immersive soundscape full of youthful energy and strength through togetherness.
