Live it, Learn it! ATAR Music Workshop 2020


UWA Conservatorium of Music and Fremantle Symphony Orchestra invite you and your students to a workshop of the Western Art Music set pieces from the Year 11 & 12 ATAR list.

Bring your instruments and learn the pieces from the inside out as you play them alongside musicians from the FSO and UWA, in a guided learning experience led by Head of the UWA Conservatorium of Music, Prof Alan Lourens.

Immerse yourself in the key features of these set works. Explore the structure, form, themes and harmony, instrument specific techniques and timbres, all illustrated by live musical extracts.

Repertoire
Year 11 – Compulsory area
Bach, J.S. Concerto for Two Violins in D minor, BWV 1043. 1st and 2nd movements
Beethoven, L. van Piano Concerto No. 3 in C minor, Op. 37. 1st movement

Year 12 – Compulsory area
Mozart, W.A. Symphony No. 41 in C major, K. 551 (Jupiter Symphony). 1st and 3rd movements
Tchaikovsky, P.I. Symphony No. 5 in E minor, Op. 64. 1st and 3rd movements
