Welcome from Head of Department
Associate Professor Michael Gillan | Head of Management and Organisations
A warm welcome to the Department of Management and Organisations within the UWA Business School. We bring together scholars of international status, collaborating in a variety of areas including organisational theory and psychology, human resources, management and decision sciences, employment relations, business analytics, global business, strategic management, transport and logistics. We look at the business environment from multiple perspectives, to offer multidisciplinary solutions that integrate knowledge from many domains. In terms of teaching, our department contributes to an array of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including the Bachelor of Commerce and the Bachelor of Business, Master of Commerce, Master of Business Administration, Master of Human Resources and Employment Relations, Master of Business Information and Logistics Management, and Master of Business Analytics.
We also have an active doctoral program, with most of our staff being involved in the supervision of many HDR student projects.
These programs aim to develop the skills and knowledge required to deal effectively with the challenges of managing processes and people in a dynamic and turbulent business environment. Equipped with evidence and continuously connected to the community, we are able to prepare the future professionals and leaders of the world to tackle the current and future overarching issues in an efficient, ethical, sustainable manner.
