Business School welcomes three new board members

The University of Western Australia’s Business School has appointed three well-known industry leaders to its board, underscoring the School’s commitment to integrating top-tier industry expertise.

Christine Fellowes, Mark Paganin and Elsabe Muller join Director General of the Department of the Premier and Cabinet Emily Roper, and CEO of CBH Group Ben Macnamara, who were appointed to the board late last year.

Together they bring a diverse range of skills and experiences that will help guide the UWA Business School in its mission to advance business education and foster industry collaboration.

As a Non-Executive Director of National Australia Bank and GuocoLand Limited, Christine Fellowes has a wealth of experience in media, communications and technology with a proven track record in developing strategy and scaling businesses in global markets. 

Her leadership roles at Comcast Media Group, NBCUniversal and Turner Entertainment highlight her expertise in digital transformation, brand marketing and organisational culture. 

Mark Paganin, a partner at Clayton Utz for more than 25 years and a former elected partner of the national board of Clayton Utz, is renowned for his extensive experience in corporate law and advising boards and senior management on mergers and acquisitions, foreign investment, regulatory compliance and capital markets.

His participation in regulatory and industry bodies, including as a past member of the Federal Government’s Takeovers Panel and current ASX and ASIC WA Liaison Committees, illustrate his understanding of the commercial landscape. 

Currently, VP Operations  – Australia and President of Alcoa Australia, Elsabe Muller has held numerous senior roles in BHP, including Group HSE officer, Asset President and various General Manager roles globally including in Iron Ore and Marketing, based in Singapore.

Her wide-ranging involvement in operations, marketing and business planning across various sectors within BHP and her leadership in health, safety and environment will contribute significantly to the Business School’s focus on sustainability and responsible business practices.

Dean of the UWA Business School Professor Peter Robertson said the school welcomed the new appointees to the board.

“Their combined expertise and leadership will be instrumental in driving our strategic initiatives and enhancing our engagement with the business community,” Professor Robertson said.
