The UWA Maali T20 Cricket team have been presented with their playing uniform at the last training session held at James Oval on Monday 13 November 2023.

The team received inspiring words from UWA Maali Sports Coach Manager Will Stibbs, before undergoing a light training session to prepare the group for the week-long UniSport T20 Cricket National Championships.

This year, UWA Maali will compete at the standalone event, UniSport T20 Cricket National Championships, for the first time under the new representative uniform. In 2023, the competition will be contested in Adelaide, South Australia (Kaurna Country) in November.

UniSport Nationals provide an opportunity for students at our 42 member universities from across Australia to compete head-to-head in a number of national standard sporting competitions. The winners from each sport in UniSport Nationals will be combined with the winners of the various Nationals Standalone Championships throughout the year to name one university the Overall Nationals Champions.

UWA Maali will provide an element of surprise to the competition as the team returns to the competition after a small hiatus.

Sports Coach Manager, Will Stibbs, is excited at the opportunity to compete against the best universities at the National Championships and looks forward to the challenge ahead.

The competition will commence on Monday 20 November and will involve five days of cricket with double headers throughout the week. A tough schedule for the team with majority of the players making their T20 Cricket Nationals debut in Adelaide. UWA Maali are placed in Pool B and will be battling for the title amongst 12 other universities.
