UWA students will be travelling to Sydney to hit court in a back-to-back round one fixture against the top teams in the University Basketball League.
The University Basketball League Australia (UBL) is a national university basketball competition first established in 2020. The twelve week competition involves both men's and women's divisions with thirteen universities competition across six states in a home and away format.
UWA Maali will embrace a tough round one fixture and look to start the season strong against the top teams in the league. The first game will be up against The University of Technology Sydney on Tuesday 14 March followed by a heated contest against The University of Sydney on Wednesday 15 March. The back-to-back fixture will put these UWA athletes to the test but UWA Maali coaching staff is adamant that his side will have the fitness to produce quality basketball under fatigue and pressure.
Round one will mark the special debut for 9 UWA students who take the court alongside their experienced team mates. Congratulations to the following UWA Maali athletes making their UBL debut:

The 2023 UBL season will commence on the 14 March 2023 with nine weeks of home and away games and three weeks of finals including the Grand Final commencing in the week of 29 May 2023.
