The RCSWA Rural High School Program provides a travel subsidy for eligible year 12 students located in rural and remote areas of Western Australia, who are applying for UWA’s Rural Assured Pathway to the Doctor of Medicine, to attend the University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT) in Perth on either 5 July 2022 or 13 July 2022.
A student is eligible to apply for the travel subsidy as a rural applicant if their principal home address has been in a remote or rural area of Australia as defined by the Modified Monash Model (2019) categories MMM 2-7 for a minimum of 5 consecutive years or 10 years cumulative.
Students apply to RCSWA directly and pay a $250.00 fee to participate in the travel subsidy scheme. The financial subsidy is provided in the form of air travel, airport transfers, overnight accommodation, some meals, and transport to the UCAT testing centre. RCSWA coordinate the logistics of the travel and accommodation bookings.
Applications close on 30 May 2022 – late applications will not be accepted.
If you have questions regarding the travel subsidy or require more information, please contact the RCSWA Rural High School Program Coordinator, Sue Pougnault by email at [email protected].
