UWA students and graduates selected for Commonwealth Games

A number of UWA students and graduates have been selected to represent Australia at the upcoming Commonwealth Games, to be held in Birmingham from 28 July to 8 August 2022.

In the Athletics realm, Angus Armstrong, currently studying a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Neuroscience has been selected in the pole vault, and Bachelor of Science (Wildlife Conservation) student Rhiannon Clarke has been selected to represent Australia in the Para Sprint T38. Master of Applied Finance student Tim Howard has been selected for the hockey team, and Bachelor of Science student Josh Yong has been selected for the swimming team. Finally, Bachelor of Arts student and West Coast Fever captain Courtney Bruce has been selected for netball.

A number of UWA graduates have also been selected, including Declan Tingay (10km race walk), Georgia Wilson (hockey), and Andrew Charter (hockey). Members of UWA sporting clubs have also been selected, including Ella Pardy (para sprint T38), Tom Wickham (hockey), Courtney Schonell (hockey), Jocelyn Bartram (hockey), Brianna Throssell (swimming), Josh Edwards-Smith (swimming) and Zac Incerti (swimming).

As teams continue to be selected, we hope to welcome more members of the UWA community to this list.
