Artist & Curator's Talk: Sera Waters & Lee Kinsella

Saturday, 7 September, 1-2pm

Curator of the Cruthers Collection of Women's Art and Stuffed, Bolstered and Upholstered, Lee Kinsella in conversation with the artist Sera Waters about the her works in the exhibition.

 -----------------------

Sera Waters is an artist, arts writer and academic based on Kaurna Country, South Australia. In 2006 she was awarded a Ruth Tuck Scholarship to study hand embroidery at the Royal School of Needlework (UK).  Her predominantly textile-based practice and research dwells within the gaps of Australian histories to examine settler-colonial home-making patterns and practices, especially her own genealogical ghostscapes. More recently Waters has been exploring how textile traditions can help navigate a future affected by climate change. Waters lectures at Adelaide Central School of Art and is represented by Hugo Michell Gallery.
