About us

Who we are
The Centre boasts expertise on the intersections of health and a wide range of legal fields including therapeutic goods regulation, beginning and ending of life, mental health, health protection in the criminal justice system, reproduction and parenthood, vaccine regulation and policies, broader contemporary challenges for public health protection and delicate issues in healthcare provision. As we share a vision of the value of good health to all people, our research is particularly focused on community goals of improving collective health, which also encompasses important aspects of individual healthcare.
We have a history of significant grant and publication success, reflecting a deep and respectful belief in the benefits of collaborative and multi-disciplinary research.
Our research benefits both our undergraduate and postgraduate students in the law school and other disciplines through popular and highly relevant curriculum offerings.
We have fruitful and established relationships with the health sector, both private and public, and a strong record of contributing to health professional education.
