Postgraduate Pathways

Prepare to enter your ideal career with our packaged undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. You’ll gain the knowledge and networks you need for success. If you don’t achieve the ATAR (or equivalent) required to secure your place in one of our Postgraduate Pathways, you can always apply for your chosen postgraduate degree after you have completed your bachelor’s degree.

Assured Pathways

Our Assured Pathways, formerly known as Direct Pathways, give you a guaranteed place in the professional postgraduate degree of your choice at the start of your studies. Your place is guaranteed on the basis of your high school performance or equivalent (subject to satisfactory performance in your bachelor’s degree).

This provides you with clear progression towards a postgraduate qualification and, in some cases, the opportunity for faster completion of your degrees.

Is this degree for me?

  • Take a clear path towards your dream professional career and secure your place in one of our professionally accredited postgraduate degrees.
  • Gain advanced knowledge and skills in your chosen career.
  • Depending on the majors you choose, in some cases, you can complete your postgraduate degree in as little as 18 months.

Combined bachelor’s and master’s degrees

Take the express path to your postgraduate qualification with our combined bachelor’s and master’s degrees (CBMs).

You’ll start advanced postgraduate-level studies in the third year of your bachelor’s degree and complete two degrees in just four years so you can enter your dream career sooner.

Is this degree for me?

  • Earn an undergraduate and postgraduate degree in normally just four years, saving time and money.
  • Gain advanced knowledge and skills in your chosen career or profession.
  • If you decide the master’s course isn’t right for you, exit after 3 years with a specialised or advanced bachelor’s degree.

What makes up my undergraduate degree?

Our 3-year bachelor’s degrees consist of 24 units. These units are grouped as majors, extended majors and minors, which will be named on your degree certificate. You can fill the rest of your degree with other units of your choice.

Majors

We offer a wide range of majors and extended majors within our bachelor’s degrees.

  • One major requires 8-12 units over the course of your bachelor's degree so, in most cases, you can choose to study two majors.
  • Extended majors enable you to dive deeper into a particular area of study and normally require 13 to 18 units studied over the course of your degree.
  • You’ll need to choose your major(s) when you enrol but if you’d like to change during your degree you can.

Minors

These are sequences of four related units that allow you to gain skills and knowledge in a specialised area that may complement your major(s), suit your career goals or simply be of personal interest.

Additional units

Foundational unit

Your course may include up to four units that give you broad grounding and key skills in your chosen degree area, irrespective of your choice of major(s). For example, the Bachelor of Commerce requires foundational units to develop your knowledge across different areas of business, in addition to your major(s).

Bridging unit

If you don’t have the required subject at ATAR level or equivalent for your chosen major, you can take these additional units in your first year.

Elective unit

Depending on your choice of majors and minors, you may have space for elective units. You can choose (almost!) anything you like to expand your knowledge in a new field, provided you meet the unit rules. Elective units provide you with the opportunity to explore a range of interests and new disciplines. If you structure your degree with one degree-specific major, there is potential for up to 16 electives. If you decide to study two majors, there is still room for variety beyond your majors.
