Admission requirements
English competency
English is the language of instruction and assessment at UWA and you will need to meet the English language requirements of the University to be eligible for a place.
Minimum overall IELTS score of 7.0, with no band less than 7.0.
How to apply

Domestic Pathways
- Domestic Assured Pathway/School Leaver Entry: Applications are lodged via TISC. Refer to TISC Online for current course codes and application deadlines.
- Domestic Graduate Entry: Applications are lodged via GEMSAS, which open and close in accordance with the GEMSAS timeline. All domestic applicants must submit a valid GAMSAT score by the application closing date.
International Pathways
- International Assured Pathway/School Leaver Entry: Applications are lodged via UWA's online application system or via an authorised international education agent.
- International Graduate Entry: Applications are lodged via UWA's online application system or via an authorised international education agent.

The Bachelor of Human Sciences (Pharmaceutical Health) and Master of Pharmacy* is a four-year program, designed for you to excel as a pharmacist, highlighting the critical role pharmacists play as frontline healthcare providers and equipping you for the expanding scope of practice across diverse healthcare settings and specialised fields.
* The University proposes to change the title of this course from Master of Pharmacy to Doctor of Pharmacy. And is seeking, but has not yet been granted, approval for this change from the Australian Pharmacy Council and approval from the Pharmacy Board of Australia.

Choosing to study the Master of Pharmacy at the University of Western Australia was easy because I had enjoyed my learning experience at UWA throughout my undergraduate studies.
I decided to pursue Pharmacy because I wanted to combine my passion for healthcare, science and helping people in a career that would allow me to do them all on a daily basis.
The best part about the course is the support the lecturers and staff provide. Because it’s a relatively small cohort, you become quite close to the other students, which also provides a great support system during your studies.
UWA is a great place to study – there is always something to get involved with, no matter what your interests are. I have enjoyed and benefited from being involved with the Master of Pharmacy Society, as well as being a student ambassador representing the university.

The Master of Pharmacy (51500) is accredited by the Australian Pharmacy Council (APC) and is approved by the Pharmacy Board of Australia as a qualification leading to registration as a pharmacist in Australia.
Graduates are eligible to register to practise as a pharmacist in Australia after completion of an internship in a community or hospital pharmacy.
