Domestic Student Fees
Eligible Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) students can use the HECS-HELP loan program to pay their tuition fees. For Full-Fee Paying (FFP) places, students are charged an annual course fee.

Admission Requirements
(a) a bachelor's degree, or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA;
and
(b) must have a degree with six units in a discipline that is relevant for the school curriculum major, with at least two of those units studied at second year university level and two at third year university level;
and
(c) the equivalent of a UWA weighted average mark of at least 60 per cent; and
(d) a satisfactory personal statement, as recognised by UWA.
(2) Before admission, international students must obtain a criminal record check from their country of origin or recent residence.
Ranking and Selection Process
(a) an interview when requested;
and
(b) applicants undertaking the Music major may be required to do an audition
English Language Requirements
Below is a summary of how the ELC requirement may be satisfied for admission to the UWA Master of Teaching.
At least two years full-time equivalent study at tertiary level in one of the following countries:
- Australia
- New Zealand
- United Kingdom
- Republic of Ireland
- United States of America
- Canada (except Quebec)
- South Africa, where studies are taught and assessed in English.
OR
- A valid IELTS Academic overall score of at least 7.5, a minimum score of 7.0 in the Reading and Writing bands, and a minimum score of 8.0 in the Listening and Speaking bands.

Postgraduate coursework degrees and combined (coursework and research) degrees comprise a number of units. Refer to the course structure for more information.
Teaching periods
Our Master of Teaching courses are delivered across four teaching periods that align closely to school terms.
Professional practice placements for first-year students will occur in the third teaching period (August to September).
Commonwealth Teaching Scholarships
If you're planning to study teaching, whether you're a school leaver or career changer the Commonwealth Teaching Scholarship provided by the Department of Education is available to eligible new full-time students.
Not only does the scholarship help with study costs but it also provides opportunities to teach in government schools or government-run early learning settings once you graduate.

The Master of Teaching - Secondary (32550) is accredited by the Teachers Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA) and recognised as an accredited program by the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL).
Graduates are eligible to register with TRBWA and this entitles them to be legally employed as a teacher.
