Develop practical skills in scientific and diagnostic research
The School of Biomedical Sciences offers a range of hi-tech training facilities for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Using the equipment, students can establish and develop hands-on scientific research and diagnostic skills in a supportive environment.
The facilities include seven purpose-built, large-scale teaching laboratories, including five physical containment level 2 (PC-2) teaching laboratories, a histopathology research and teaching laboratory and a pharmacology teaching laboratory. Together, these facilities service about 1400 students a year across all study levels.
Other equipment available for student use includes specialised scientific equipment such as microscopes, electrophoresis equipment, spectrophotometers and tissue culture facilities, along with TV screens and overhead projectors.
