The University of Western Australia sits in the prime location of our state’s thriving capital city, Perth.
Our main campus is home to 25,000 students, with more than 4,000 international students hailing from 100 countries. We also have an Albany campus in the heart of the South West (a five-hour drive from Perth), and our UWA Health Campus at the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre, along with additional facilities in Claremont and Nedlands.

Safety and security
Perth is a safe, friendly and welcoming city, with a great sense of community. You can feel secure on public transport as trains, buses and ferries are fitted with 24/7 CCTV cameras.
UWA offers an after-hours security escort service to car parks, colleges and accommodation immediately adjacent to the University. Uniformed security officers can be called upon to ensure you reach your destination safely.

Living and studying at university can bring about costs other than your tuition fees, such as accommodation, groceries, utilities, services, socialising, and more.

UWA Perth
There’s much more to our campus than iconic Winthrop Tower greeting you from Stirling Highway. UWA Perth provides a mix of high-tech facilities, studios, labs, tutorial spaces, lecture and performance theatres, in addition to uni essentials like libraries, cafés, shops, health services, sporting venues and more. With a lively cultural scene, including a museum, gallery and seasonal open-air theatre, UWA is like its own vibrant city.
Set against a backdrop of lush gardens, our campus celebrates heritage-listed buildings alongside striking new facilities. The beloved sandstone pillars and arches that adorn our grounds also attract visitors year-round. From campus, it’s an easy walk, cycle or drive to significant, treasured landmarks such as Kings Park, Cottesloe Beach, Fremantle, and more.

UWA Health Campus
Located on the grounds on the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre, this training site includes two major public hospitals and is home to internationally renowned organisations. UWA academics and students feature throughout these organisations, where they engage in world-leading research and clinical teaching.
UWA Albany
Sitting along the town’s café strip just a five-hour drive from Perth is our southwest campus, UWA Albany. Studying in Albany can be an excellent transition year for country school leavers who want to start their studies without the stress and expense of moving to the city.

UWA recognises the need to renew and revitalise our partnerships with industry, government, and communities in rural, regional and remote WA. Each year we dedicate more than $50m to regional projects that span agriculture, marine science, archaeology, astronomy, law, medicine, indigenous education and the arts involving research, learning, teaching and community engagement activities.
